The person behind it
I grew up between
these five doors.
I was born in the Corinthia and grew up moving through the corners of the Peloponnese the way locals do — knowing which taverna the fishermen actually eat at, which fortress holds the best light at dusk, which village most travellers drive straight past.
For years I watched visitors give this region a night, maybe two, on their way elsewhere. A place that rewards a week was getting an afternoon. Not because it lacks anything — but because no one had ever told its story properly, or made it easy to stay.
So I started building the thing I always wished existed.

A place that deserves a week
was getting a day and a half.
That is the reason TheLocals exists.
What we believe
Not a trip. A way of living Greece.
Stay longer, not faster.
We don't build day-trips. We build journeys — multiple nights in each place, so you stop being a visitor and start, for a while, to belong. The reward of this region is time.
The people who host you keep everything.
Every hotel and family we work with receives their full rate — always. Our fee is added on top and paid by the traveller, never taken from them. When your hosts thrive, the whole region does.
Local isn't a label. It's the whole thing.
Every route, every table, every quiet cove comes from people who actually live here. You arrive already knowing someone — and that changes everything about how a place feels.
One journey. One booking.
Stays, experiences and the roads between them, arranged and paid as one — and checked by a real person before it's ever confirmed. The ease is the luxury.
Before we even started
We listened first.
Before we built a single booking page, we sat down with the people who live and work in these places — the restaurateurs, the shopkeepers, the hosts, the residents — and asked one question: what do you want travellers to finally see?
Those conversations shaped everything that followed. This wasn't built for a community from the outside. It was built with one, from the inside.
Where we begin
The Peloponnese.
We're starting where our roots are — five corners of the Greek mainland, each a different world, each a different way of being here. New doors will open as we grow.
